Description
On a June evening this year I was horrified to see cars driving down the paved walking trail that leads from the parking lot at the north end of Haldon Avenue, into Taylor Creek Park. The cars were driving down to the picnic area in the Taylor Creek Ravine, picking up people and their picnic baskets, and then driving back up the paved walking trail to the parking lot.
I went up to the parking lot where Haldon Avenue ends, and discovered that the concrete curbs placed to prevent cars from driving down into the ravine have been removed. There is only a metal post in the middle of the path, which lots of cars have obviously just driven around (you can see the tire marks) to drive down into the ravine.
I called the City to report this and although they expressed great concern, nothing has been done: as of yesterday (see photos) there is still a wide-open driveway that cars take down into our ravine, notwithstanding the “No Entry” sign that is also there and that they drive right past.
I treasure this ravine and am more than dismayed to see cars able to freely drive down into it. Please have something done about this; it has gone on for far too long.
Thank you,
