As of July 22 - Metal plates gone road patched - MAIN PROBLEM of constant leaching/leaking on sidewalk EVEN WORSE due to the month's flooding. Sidewalk covered in slime/water barely passable

The Gardiner was given a maximum lifespan of 6 years in the last month or so (re: Toronto Star). Makes sense since it seems to be held up by a puzzle of short 2"x4" planks of wood.

As of Sept 20 2013 the area is still as shown - witnessed cyclists dismounting and walking on road due to condition of sidewalk. Only a few months then it will be ALL ICE. Won't be a matter of if someone falls but when. Wonder what will be said then as the city has had since May to do something about it.......

Sidewalk STILL impassable. Someone with any mobility problems is going to get hurt trying to navigate the sidewalk.....

After the ice storm - as of Jan 18 2014 the sidewalk is IMPASSABLE. All pedestrians are having to walk on east side of East Mall. Hopefully, if someone is injured they can use this report to prove the city has had AMPLE notice of the problem and failed to do anything almost a year later, despite it even being mentioned in the Toronto Star.

Still as reported - ice gone thanks to change of season - now back to wet covered slime.

Issue has been open so long because nothing has been done.........

Congrats to the City - BOTH sides of the underpass have been rebuilt with a 'walled moat' before the new sidewalks. So far there has been NO flooding of the sidewalk or road. Let's hope it works in the winter also. THANKS TO ALL THAT CARED AND GOT OFF THEIR DUFFS TO MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!
